To celebrate International Women’s Day, we’ve put together a list of some incredible and inspirational women in the motorhome and campervan world!

 

Kat AKA Wandering Bird

If you haven’t heard of Wandering Bird, this blogger is an amazing source for everything Van life! If you don’t know Kat’s story, it begins with her quitting her career as an air traffic controller to lead a more exciting life of motorhoming around the UK and Europe! While travelling full time she started a little blog called Wandering Bird to document stories of her travels; today this blog has over 50,000 users!

On Wandering Bird, you’ll find quite literally everything that you need when it comes to motorhome and campervan touring from advice on managing finances if you want to full-time, to travel ideas and motorhome care, or even buying advice. Wandering Bird is filled with a wealth of knowledge and resources on campervan and motorhome life!

Not only does Kat post advice on her blog but on her social media and YouTube you’ll find helpful videos and posts filled with travel tips, vehicle advice and more!

Siobhan Daniels

“One woman, one motorhome, one big adventure!”

After a career in television and radio, Siobhan Daniels, a journalist who worked for the BBC for thirty years decided to sell her possessions, buy a motorhome and go on a journey of self-discovery.

Throughout her travel adventure, Siobhan documented her experiences which she shares in her book Retirement Rebel. Siobhan promotes an inspiring positive ageing message, flipping the retirement narrative and showing that retirement can in fact be the start of life’s adventures and also a freeing experience!

Siobhan’s story of courage, discovery and joy is an encouraging and uplifting read; perfect for anyone who is looking to add a bit more adventure into their lives and find themselves.

Stacey Solomon

This next inspirational woman is a household name with a huge list of achievements; X factor finalist, I’m a celeb winner, Loose Woman and even host of her own show Sort Your Life Out. More importantly, she is a former resident of Dagenham (the home of the Comfort Insurance office!)

Stacey Solomon has been making waves in the motorhome world news after sharing a more realistic view of van life; documenting her partner, Joe Swash, and their family’s trip in their new seven-berth motorhome on her social media.

Stacey Soloman is a woman not afraid to voice her opinions; she doesn’t gloss over the struggles that come with van life. In her comical posts, Stacey shares stories of the motorhome getting stuck in a McDonald’s drive-through, the issues that come with a motorhome toilet and even an anecdote about how they forgot to secure the cupboards inside the motorhome resulting in everything falling out of them!

Although Stacey is relatively new to the motorhoming world, we are happy to see her share her clips and photos of the family’s travel adventures and get a real look at what a new motorhome family experience can be like; we look forward to seeing if they continue any motorhome trips in the future!

 

 

Pat Cue

Last but not least, we can’t celebrate International Women’s Day without recognising all the hard work of Comfort’s own Pat! Without Pat Cue, we wouldn’t have Comfort Insurance! Pat, along with her husband Peter Cue, are the founders of Comfort Insurance. Their family have been active motorhome owners for over 30 years! After the family realised that there was little or no specialist cover available to motorhome owners, they set about creating a policy that provided the additional cover that motorhome owners required and this has evolved into the Comfort Insurance policies you all know and love today!
