Helping the Environment
Comfort have teamed up with Surfers Against Sewage (SAS) to help our environment.
Our main reason for joining a charity like SAS is because we were so inspired by Blue Planet to do something for our oceans and wildlife. SAS were so helpful with joining, they offer a variety of different things that you can do to help your community.
As a kick start to joining the SAS team we organised a beach clean at Southend Beach. We are happy to say that this is the first of many things we wish to do to help our environment.
Our first beach clean went exceptionally well. Did you know that one small, discarded cigarette butt, unbelievably, pollutes one litre of water? We collected approximately 700 cigarette butts! That is 700L of water we saved. We also collected 4 hypodermic needles and 11 bags full of rubbish.
If you would wish to get involved please visit the SAS website to find out how.
