We’re thrilled to finally announce that our Horizon Motorhome and Campervan Insurance product has received a Defaqto 5 Star rating! Policy Improvements

We always strive to improve our policies with the goal to ensure that they are both as comprehensive as possible and easy to understand. The following changes will go live for all Horizon motorhome and campervan policies taken out or with a renewal date on or after 1st March 2025:

 

Policy Wording

We know that a policy wording full of extensive complex wording and jargon can be difficult to understand. That’s why we’ve reviewed our policy wording to ensure that the language used is in plain English, making it clear and easy to understand!

 

New for Old Cover

New for old cover is a policy benefit where if you have purchased a vehicle new, in the event of a total right off or theft, we will replace your vehicle with one of the same make, model and specification (providing one is available in Great Britain, Northern Ireland, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man.)

Previous cover: New for old cover for the first 36 months or 15,000 miles whichever is first subject to the policyholder being the first registered owner of the vehicle.

 

 

Improved cover: New for old cover for the first 36 months subject to the policyholder being the first registered owner of the vehicle. Mileage restrictions have been removed.

 

Personal Effects Cover

Personal effects covers your personal belongings in the event of theft or damage, this covers items such as your clothing, bedding, pots, pans, and general camping equipment. Personal effects offers peace of mind ensuring that your personal belongings are protected!

 

Personal Effects Cover – Total Cover

Previous cover: Personal Effects Cover was £2500 for vehicles worth less than £15,000 and £5000 for vehicles worth over £15,000.

 

 

Improved cover: Personal effects cover is now £5000 regardless of vehicle value.

 

 

Personal Effects Cover – Single Article Limit

Previous cover: Single article limit of £400.

 

 

Improved cover: New single article limit of £500.

 

 

Pro Rata Cancellations

Sometimes customers need to cancel their insurance before their policy end date, this can be due to reasons like a change in circumstance or selling their vehicle. With our updated cancellation terms you’ll receive a refund based on the remaining length of your policy.

Previous cover: Cancellations were previously short period rates within the first year and pro rata after the first year.

 

 

Improved cover: Cancellations are now pro rata at any point of cancellation.
